Woonsocket School Committee Cancellation of Meetings

Woonsocket School Committee Chairman, Paul A. Bourget issued a press release today advising the public and community at large that the School Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Woonsocket Hamlet Middle School, Cafeteria has been cancelled. All sub-committee meetings of the School Committee are cancelled as well in order to comply with Governor Raimondo’s request to avoid all public gatherings for the next few weeks. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the School Committee is scheduled April 8, 2020. We will keep the public advised if there will be any cancellations of future public meetings.

Governor Ron DeSantis is giving the green light for Florida's bars and restaurants. DeSantis says they can open at full capacity. The governor will also put an end to fines imposed by local communities for people not wearing masks.        Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul is recovering in the hospital following a medical emergency. The incident happen while Paul was speaking on a live-streamed talk show. In a tweet, the congressman says that he was doing fine.        President Trump is condemning what he calls "radical left wing riots" in American cities. Trump made that remark while speaking to a group of black supporters in Atlanta. He added the Black Lives Matter movement is really hurting the African American Community.        Wall Street is coming off it's best day since September 9th. That's thanks to a rally in tech shares. Big tech names like Amazon and Facebook regained some of the ground lost this month.       Black activist Tamika Mallory is ripping Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron by implying he has betrayed his race. Mallory made the comments while speaking at a press event organized by Breonna Taylor's family in Louisville. She compared Cameron to the Black men who helped capture other Black men and put them on slave ships.       Ruth Bader Ginsburg's last journey to Capital Hill is at an end. Ginsburg lied in state at the U.S. Capitol for a brief period after lying in repose at the Supreme Court. Her private burial is set for next week at Arlington National Cemetery.
