Give and Go Muffins Recalled

 

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is advising consumers that Give and Go Prepared Foods is recalling certain muffin products due to the potential for the products to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

 

The products were sold under a variety of brand names, including Uncle Wally’s, The Worth Crumb, 7-Eleven Selects, Great Value, and Marketside. These products were sold in retail stores nationwide. A full list of products and best-by dates is available online.

 

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy people may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

 

To date, there have been no reports of illness related to this issue.

 

Consumers who have these products should immediately dispose of the products and not eat them.

On Friday, the board says people 65-and-over and those deemed high risk should get a third dose. Earlier, the panel overwhelmingly voted against Pfizer COVID booster shots for the general public.        Jurors in Los Angeles are convicting Robert Durst of murdering his friend Susan Berman in L.A.'s Benedict Canyon neighborhood in 2000. The panel came to a decision after more than seven hours of deliberating.       France is recalling its ambassador to the U.S. over the new national security partnership with the U.K. and Australia. The French minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs issued a statement Friday, saying President Emmanuel Macron [[ MAH-crohn ]] made the request for the removal. The official cited the decision was made after the U.S. pulled out of the "ocean class submarine project that Australia and France had been working on since 2016."        A top U.S. general is apologizing for a recent drone strike that mistakenly killed 10 Afghans. CENTCOM Commander Kenneth McKenzie told a Pentagon briefing he is "fully responsible for the strike" and called it a "tragic mistake." The mission was carried out August 29th and left three adults and seven children dead.       One person is injured after a shooting at a Delaware mall. Multiple outlets say the shooting happened Friday afternoon at the Concord Mall. The area has since been evacuated.
