New Preschool Music Program at Woonsocket Harris Public Library

 

 

Welcome to a brand new music program for ages 2-5 years!  Tunes-N-Tales Family Music & More. In this program, Anne-Marie Forer will entertain us via zoom with music and integrated movement and rhythm play for 15 minutes. Stay tuned for more as Ms. Chris will read a story and do a craft with you. This program is presented in a new hybrid style. That means that some people will be able to join us via Zoom and  some people will be here at the library in-person with Ms. Chris. 

 

Craft kits matching the program theme will be available at the library for you to pick up one week prior to the program date to give you time to come down to the library get books and your craft bag. No transportation? No worries. When we send you the zoom code we will send you the instructions to make your own craft at home. Then you can make your craft at home along with us.

Wall Street is trending positive during today's session. Investors have sent the Dow Jones Industrial Average up more than 730 points today. The Nasdaq has seen gains of more than 100 points and the S&P 500 is well into the green.       The Associate Attorney General says the Justice Department lawsuit against Texas proves the department will not stand idly by in restricting minority access to the ballot. Vanita Gupta said this isn't the first time Texas has acted to deliberately weaken Black and Latino votes. Gupta said the state's redistricting plan hinders Blacks and Latinos from electing representatives of their choosing, which is illegal.       President Biden believes prescription drugs are "outrageously expensive." Speaking at the White House, Biden said the U.S. has the highest prescription drug prices of any developed nation in the world. He argued the U.S. can do better and said his Build Back Better legislation will make drug prices much more reasonable.       Research from the Cleveland Clinic shows people's blood pressure increased during the pandemic. The study published in Circulation says researchers at both the Clinic and Quest Diagnostics noted a "significant" increase in blood pressure from April through December of 2020, compared to the year prior. Officials say a bad diet, lack of sleep and inactivity from the pandemic likely led to this rise.        Former "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett [[ smuh-LETT ]] is taking the stand in his trial for allegedly staging a hate crime attack. He's accused of lying to police, but claims he's a real victim of a real crime. Prosecutors called two brothers to the stand last week who worked as extras on the show "Empire" before Smollett was written off.       Luke Bryan is returning to American Idol in 2022. The long-running reality TV competition returns for its fifth season on ABC, and its 20th season overall, on February 27th. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Ryan Seacrest will also be back.
