Join us at the library for our reading buddies program.
Book Buddies is a program where students in currently in grades 1, 2, 3 as of May 2022 will read with and do fun activities with teens ages 13-17. The purpose of the program is to keep up the reading level of students through the summer so they are ready to go back to school in the fall maintaining their reading level.
The program takes place every other Wednesday May-August dates are:
5/25, 6/8, 6/22,7/6, 7/20, 8/3, 8/17, 8/24, at 4:00-4:55pm
(Note: The reason it is every other Wednesday is because there is a book club for grades 3, 4, 5 that takes place on the opposite Wednesday. Ask at the desk for details.)

We need to register both groups prior to the start of the program so we can match up teens to their reading buddies.
We do offer community service credit to teens for school for this program. Each younger reading buddy will receive a certificate of completion of the program to hand into their teacher in September.
Conservatives are warning Republican Mike Johnson against raising the threshold required to trigger the procedure to oust the House speaker. Johnson was involved in a tense exchange on the House floor today with a group of conservatives calling on him to assure them he would not raise the threshold on the motion to vacate. Johnson refused to commit, frustrating lawmakers like Florida Republican Matt Gaetz, who later told reporters doing so would likely kick off an effort to remove Johnson.
