Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury - Reported April 3, 2024

On April 3, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Ivan Rodriguez with one count of first-degree child molestation and one count of second-degree child molestation.


The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on diverse dates between July 16, 2020, and July 31, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.


The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 24, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.



Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is admitting he stole 30-grand from the Trump Organization. Cohen made the admission while on the stand today in Trump's hush money case in New York City. Cohen is the prosecutors' key witness who they say was behind the alleged payments to adult actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006. Trump is accused of falsifying business records in connection with the payments.        The ship that caused the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore will be removed from the channel within the next few days. That's what Maryland Governor Wes Moore told NBC's "Meet the Press." The ship has been sitting in the middle of the Patapsco River since late March when it collided with the bridge. Crews have been scrambling to reopen the channel as soon as possible.       Millions in the central U.S. are in the path of severe thunderstorms this week. Thunderstorms are expected to start as early as this afternoon in parts of Wyoming and Colorado and are projected to move towards Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. Cities like Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis and Milwaukee could see severe weather this week as well.        Democrats will try again to pass a bipartisan border bill after it was blocked by Republicans earlier this year. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced the Senate will vote on the bill this week as Democrats renew their push on the southern border ahead of the 2024 election. The bill would reform asylum laws and approve border funding, among other measures. The legislation is expected to fail due to opposition from both sides.       People that use injected drugs to treat diabetes or obesity can increase the risk of stomach paralysis. The side effect is very rare, but a new study out of the University of Kansas says it's real. While some stomach issues go away after stopping use of the drugs, a small number have had ongoing and serious issues.        Fort Stevenson State Park in North Dakota celebrated its 50th anniversary by breaking a delicious world record on Saturday. The park became the site of the most people making s'mores at a single location, and a Guinness World Records judge was on site to make it official. Up until now, the world record was 891 people, but one-thousand-150 people showed up to make s'mores at Fort Stevenson on Saturday, shattering the previous record.
