Woonsocket area churches

plan Lenten services.

 

       Seven Christian churches in Woonsocket, Slatersville and Blackstone are scheduling five prayer services on the Wednesdays of Lent at 7pm offering hymns, prayer, Scripture reading and sermon on the traditional Lenten themes of repentance and renewal.  Local and guest preachers will lead the services. 

 

--St. Charles Church at 190 North Main St. will begin the series at 7pm on February 21

 

--A joint effort of Our Saviour Polish National Church and Slatersville Congregational Church on February 28 with the 7pm service at 500 Smithfield Road.   

 

--All Saints Church at 323 Rathbun St., will continue the service at 7pm on March 7. 

 

--St. James Episcopal Church and St. Mark Lutheran Church will offer another joint service at 7pm on March 14 at 24 Hamlet Avenue. 

 

--Christ Community Church off Mendon Rd. at Church St. in Blackstone will conclude the series at 7pm on March 21. 

 

Worshippers are invited to stay for fellowship after the services. 

 

Donations will be gladly accepted to benefit the local meal site NEW BEGINNINGS on Rathbun St, Woonsocket. 

 

All services are open to the public.
