The White House is reportedly looking to go around Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a State of the Union invite. In a letter to Trump yesterday, Pelosi said the annual speech should be delayed until after the partial government shutdown is resolved. CBS News reports the White House is discussing whether it's possible for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to invite Trump to deliver the address. The shutdown has entered day 27.        President Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani says he can't be sure members of the Trump campaign didn't collude with Russia during the 2016 election. In an interview on CNN, Giuliani claimed that he never said there wasn't collusion between the campaign and Russia, but had previously said Trump himself was not involved in any work with Russia. He added that there's no evidence President Trump conspired with Russians to hack the Democratic Party.        A judge is set to issue a verdict today in a Chicago Police coverup case. The Cook County judge has scheduled an afternoon hearing in the case of three officers accused of lying about Officer Jason Van Dyke's shooting of Laquan McDonald in 2014. Van Dyke was convicted of second-degree murder in the 17-year-old African-American teen's death.        Arizona authorities say a burglary suspect shot and killed by Tempe police was a 14-year-old boy with an airsoft gun. Police say an officer saw the suspect burglarizing a car yesterday afternoon, and watched him leave the vehicle with a gun and some other items. The officer pursued the suspect and gave verbal commands, and shot the teen when he perceived a threat.        There are questions about who'll get the 50 thousand-dollars in reward money in the case of a kidnapped Wisconsin teenager. Jayme Closs escaped last week after nearly 90 days in captivity. The 13-year-old was kidnapped after police say Jake Patterson killed both of her parents.        Children's clothing chain Gymboree is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. In its filing late yesterday the company said it will be closing 800 Gymboree and Crazy 8 stores in the U.S. and Canada. The company is also looking to sell its Janie and Jack high-end kids fashion line, the online platform for Gymboree, and its intellectual property.
