Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro [[ JAA-eer BOL-zo-na-ro ]] has tested positive for COVID-19, after previously deriding the virus as just a "little flu." In an announcement, Bolsonaro said he was tested last night after developing symptoms that included a fever of 100-degrees.       Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf says politics should stay out of law enforcement. On Fox News, Wolf connected talk about defunding the police with violence seen in large American cities recently. He said criminals take advantage of and react to discussions about cutting police budgets.        House Democrats are proposing to add over 596-million-dollars in funding for police reform programs in the 2021 congressional budget. The funding would go toward initiatives aimed at boosting independent investigations of law enforcement, pattern and practice investigations and community-based organizations.        Senator Lamar Alexander won't attend the Republican Party's convention. A statement says the Tennessee Republican wants to give delegate spots to those who haven't been able to secure one. Meantime, the convention in Jacksonville next month will have daily coronavirus testing for participants and attendees.        A bill being proposed in New York State's Senate would require NYPD officers to carry personal liability insurance to cover lawsuits filed against them. Right now, officers who are sued get supported by taxpayers through the city law department. The bill would require officers to pay an increase in premiums for payouts connected to police wrongdoing.        Actor Tom Hanks, who has recovered from coronavirus, says the actions people can take to prevent spreading the virus are "simple." On NBC's "Today" show, Hanks said wearing a mask, social distancing, and hand washing is "such a small thing." He added that it's a mystery how it has somehow been "wiped out of what should be ingrained in the behavior of us."
