The Harris Library, 303 Clinton St, is holding a voter registration event on September 24th from 9am-4pm in celebration of National Voter Registration Day. Come to the library and sign up to vote! Registration forms will be available at the front circulation desk. The library will deliver the forms to City Hall. New registrants will need a Rhode Island DMV issued driver's license or RI State ID number. Health experts say the coronavirus is affecting daily life for hundreds of millions of people around the world. More than a dozen countries have recorded the first confirmed cases in the past 48 hours. More than 83-thousand people in over 50 countries are infected on every continent but Antarctica.        Republican activists in South Carolina are working to get out the vote for Bernie Sanders in this Saturday's Democratic primary. GOP activists are calling the effort Operation Chaos, and it's aimed at making a winner of the Vermont senator who's running as an avowed Democratic Socialist. Many Republicans and more than a few Democratic party leaders believe Sanders would lose big to President Trump.        A member of the Central Park Five is taking issue with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for blocking a settlement over the group's wrongful prosecution. Kevin Richardson was one of five teenagers wrongly convicted for the attack of a jogger in Central Park in 1989. They were cleared in 2002 and sued the city for 250 million dollars. Bloomberg fought the suit for more than a decade. Richardson says any other Democrat would be better in the White House than Bloomberg.       Forecasters say a blizzard blowing across the Great Lakes will dump four feet of snow on upstate New York today. The National Weather Service is predicting a massive amount of lake-effect snow, caused by freezing air blowing over warm water, complete with 60-mile-an-hour wind gusts and whiteout conditions. Up to four feet of snow could accumulate north of Syracuse by this evening.        "Full House" actress Lori Loughlin [[ LOCK-lin ]] will get her day in court on October 5th as she faces charges in the massive college admissions scandal. U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton has said he expects the trial will be done before Thanksgiving. Loughlin's attorney's tried to get the trial postponed because of new evidence.        The company that makes the new Corona Hard Seltzer says it will continue its marketing push, despite backlash over a Twitter post. Constellation Brands is catching heat for tweeting that new flavors will be "coming ashore soon." Critics say that's an offensive play on worries about the coronavirus. A statement from the company says consumers understand there's no linkage between the virus and the business.
