Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in Saudi Arabia where he and King Salman talked about missing Saudi journalist and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi [[ ka-SHO-gee ]]. Khashoggi was last seen heading into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul October 2nd. There are reports the kingdom is preparing to admit Khashoggi was killed during an interrogation gone wrong.        President Trump claims his administration is "doing more than has probably ever been done" to help people and communities recover from Hurricane Michael. Trump visited storm-damaged areas of the Florida Panhandle and Georgia yesterday. The storm is blamed for at least 19 deaths.        Police in Tennessee are investigating the deaths of five people in a possible murder-suicide. The sheriff in Columbia, about 45 minutes south of Nashville, says a woman and her four children are dead. The sheriff says investigators don't believe any other suspect is at large.        Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos says the online retail giant will work enthusiastically with the U.S. military. Bezos said yesterday the country is going to be in trouble if big tech companies turn their backs on the Department of Defense. Amazon is bidding for a major Pentagon contract.        MIT is committing a billion dollars to create a new college of computing. MIT calls it an interdisciplinary hub for work in computer science, AI, data science, and related fields. The college is scheduled to open next September.        A new Broadway musical hopeful is built on the music of Smash Mouth. Actually, just one song. Smash Mouth's 1999 hit All Star is the only song in All Star: The Best Broadway Musical that had its first reading this month. All Star is performed as a solo, duet, and chorus number, re-imagined every time.
